See how our Kiwi-tech Electric Fence system works for small ruminants. Plus we’re in a drought, so how does that affect our plans?

See how we make corners and ends with our portable kiwitech system.

I recently got a comment on one of my bale grazing videos from two winters ago. The commenter described bale grazing as a “terrible idea that just leaves an enriched manure pile for 5-10 years”. Our experience has been quite the opposite, and in this video we check out an area that we’ve bale grazed/out-wintered on two winters in a row.

Finally got the phone out to make a video. Just finished grazing our annuals, oats and peas, and moved the flock to the warm season natives.

This grazing season we are going to be using the Kiwi-tech system instead of netting for grazing. In this video I’m showing you how to put together the posts. The base of the post is a 3/8” fiberglass rod, and there are foot pedals, conductor hooks, and other ways to connect reels and build ends and corners.

We’re seeding pasture today with a drone! Thanks to Bear and Luke and the team at Aeriall Ag Drone Solutions and @G@GreenCoverSeedor the seed mix!
